Cy5 Labeled Firefly Luciferase mRNA (5-moUTP, Cap 1)
FLuc mRNA encodes a luciferase protein originally sourced from the firefly Photinus pyralis. This luciferase, FLuc, is a common tool in mammalian cell culture, utilized for measuring gene expression and cell viability through bioluminescence emission upon luciferin substrate interaction.
This mRNA possesses a Cap1 structure, which is highly efficient in capping. It is fully substituted with 5-methoxyuridine (5-moU) modified nucleotides to improve expression and decrease immunogenicity.
Cy5 is a synthetic red fluorescent dye with maximum excitation and emission wavelengths of 650 nm and 670 nm, respectively. Cy5-UTP and 5-moUTP is used in a ratio of 1:3 when transcribed. Substitution in this ratio results in mRNA that is easy to visualize and still can be translated in cell culture.
This mRNA product is designed to provide researchers with a high-quality and reliable source of this critical tool for their experiments.
